On this page you will find up-to-date information on how our three church communities are adapting to the Coronavirus Pandemic – including details of reopening for worship, and Private Prayer, along with information about our Online Worship, and a range of other resources.
Re-Opening Phase III – Public Worship
Sunday Services
From the first Sunday in September, we are beginning to worship in our Church buildings once again. You are warmly welcome to join us as we worship together, and social distancing and hygiene provisions are in place to keep one another safe.
Christ Church Rossett – 9.15am every Sunday
St Martin’s, Llay – 11am every Sunday
St Paul’s, Isycoed – 6.30pm on the first and second Sundays in the month and 11am on the third, fourth and fifth Sundays.
Face coverings must be worn at all our services from 14th September.
Please see the note below at Test, Trace and Protect information.
Midweek Eucharist in Church
In Llay, and Rossett, we meet each week for a simple mid-week Eucharist, where we listen to God’s word and share in Holy Communion. As on Sundays, we have adopted hygiene measures to keep each other safe, and these have been approved by the Diocese.
Rossett: Wednesdays @ 10am
Llay: Thursday @ 10am
Test, Trace and Protect
In order to support the Welsh Government’s ‘Test Trace Protect’ scheme, we will be collecting peoples’ telephone numbers at each indoor Service – to make this simpler and safer, it would be good for forms to be filled-in before the service and then brought with you, although there will be forms available at each service. You can download the form to print off and fill in here:
This is encouraged but optional. You will need to fill this form in once, and then the stewards will simply keep a list of names for future services. Our full privacy policy can be found here:
Funerals, Weddings and Baptisms
All three of our church buildings are available for funerals, weddings and baptisms – although some restrictions are in place due to Covid-19. Please contact the Vicar if you would like to discuss this, and he will be able to discuss this with you further.
Live Streamed Services
Our pattern of online worship is:
Sunday Reflection @ 6pm
Tuesday and Friday – Daily Prayer @ 10am
(NB: you don’t need a Facebook account to view these services).
Fr Dominic Appointed as Vicar of Holywell
It was announced today that Bishop Gregory has appointed Fr Dominic as Priest-in-Charge of the Holywell Group of Churches in the Estuary and Mountain Mission Area. Dominic will be licensed to this new role on 1st November and will continue as our curate until some point in October.
Fr Dominic says, ‘There will be time in the future for proper good-byes, but this gives me a chance to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone in our three church communities – I couldn’t have asked for a more loving, supportive place to begin public ministry, and it has been a joy and privilege to live and work amongst you. I am also particularly grateful to Fr Huw, whose teaching and example means I feel ready to embrace this next opportunity. Please do pray for me and for the people of Holywell. ‘
